The Weight of Light / The Size of Air

THE WEIGHT OF LIGHT & THE SIZE OF AIR is a curatorial project by McCarthy-Swann Projects that introduces spaces of wonder, fascination and beauty to public space through the introduction of ephemeral contemporary art.

Using the most intangible of materials, light and air, two large-scale immersive art works will transform Brisbane sites, offering  other-worldly experiences and possibilities to the familiar backdrops of our city.

THE WEIGHT OF LIGHT / By Meagan Streader
Descend the stairs into the Reservoir and be immersed in a bold, futuristic vision as one of Brisbane’s most important historical sites is transformed by the power of light. The Spring Hill Reservoir, former source of water for the City of Brisbane, is taken over by artist Meagan Streader, who traces the architectural features of the site using lines of light. Re-interpreting and extending the boundaries of the original space.
